Miscellaneous Skills Driver's Education Having a driver's license is a must have for a number of jobs. Staff assess a student's driving status in Career Preparation and, depending on a student's vocational choice and transportation needs schedule driver education training. Staff also help student's who have suspended licenses identify a plan for getting the license back. Diversity Training Diversity training prepares students to live and work in a diverse society. The training helps students respect different ethnic, racial and religious groups, gender issues and individuals with disabilities. Diversity training is introduced in Career Preparation and reinforced through the center's cultural awareness program and center-wide diversity activities. Information Technology Almost every job available now requires information technology skills. Students abilities are assess in Career Preparation and they participate in the appropriate IT Class. All students are required to complete a computer-based research project in their trade. Business Etiquette This training includes the ethics of using employer business machines for personal use, e-mail etiquette and appropriate use of the internet in the workplace. | |
