Our education building

Academics

In addition to career technical training, Paul Simon Chicago Job Corps also provides academic training, including adult basic education, reading, and math. Courses in independent living, employability skills, and social skills measured by Career Success Standards are offered in order to help students transition into the workplace. We also have several academic programs to help our students achieve their full potential.

GED/High School Diploma

One of our top goals at Paul Simon Chicago Job Corps is to ensure that every qualified student obtains his or her GED/high school diploma prior to leaving the center. Students who don't already have a high school diploma upon their arrival at Paul Simon Chicago can enroll into our GED program (GED preparation in Spanish is also available). Paul Simon Chicago Job Corps Center is an official GED test site. Students also have the opportunity to earn a high school diploma through our high school diploma programs.

ELL Program

Students needing to learn English can enter our English Language Learning (ELL) program. Students in the ELL program are tested regularly to determine their language proficiency levels.

Driver's Education

Our Driver's Education program provides classroom and on-the-road instruction for students needing a driver's license.
